Does TV affect children’s brain development? With television programs—and even a cable channel—designed and marketed specifically for babies, whether kids under two years of age should be watching becomes an important question. While we are learning more all the time about early brain development, we do not yet have a clear idea how television may affect it. Some studies link early TV viewing with later attention problems, such as ADHD. However, other experts disagree with these results. One study found that TV viewing before age three slightly hurt several measures of later cognitive development, but that between ages three and five it slightly helped reading scores [11]. The American Academy of Pediatrics takes a “better-safe-than-sorry” stance on TV for young children [12]. “It may be tempting to put your infant or toddler in front of the television, especially to watch shows created just for children under age two. But the American Academy of Pediatrics says: Don’t do it! These early years are crucial in a child’s development. The Academy is concerned about the impact of television programming intended for children younger than age two and how it could affect your child’s development. Pediatricians strongly oppose targeted programming, especially when it’s used to market toys, games, dolls, unhealthy food and other products to toddlers. Any positive effect of television on infants and toddlers is still open to question, but the benefits of parent-child interactions are proven. Under age two, talking, singing, reading, listening to music or playing are far more important to a child’s development than any TV show.” In addition, TV can discourage and replace reading. Reading requires much more thinking than television, and we know that reading fosters young people’s healthy brain development. Kids from families that have the TV on a lot spend less time reading and being read to, and are less likely to be able to read [13].

Exothermic and endothermic reactions go hand in hand with heat. An exothermic reaction is when energy (heat) is released while endothermic is the opposite; an endothermic reaction takes in energy. And in the example of baking a cake, the reaction that is taken is an endothermic reaction; this makes the cake batter to bake. The eggs in the cake are also impacted, the heat causes the protein from the eggs to change and make the cake firm. Also, many types of cake recipes require a few common ingredients, such as yeast and sugar. “Yeast is a type of fungi that is able to convert the sugar you add into ethanol and carbon dioxide through what is known as a metabolic pathway.” Which basically means the yeast changes the sugar. You may also notice tiny bubbles in your cake; heat helps baking powder produce tiny bubbles of gas, which then leads to a fluffy cake.

Yes, even the cake baking in the oven undergoes some changes. How is it that the batter is now turning into a delicious dessert? Or how is it that the cake changes shape as heat is being added? Well the baking of a cake is a great example to explain the many changes heat can do to a certain substance.

All things in the world have are made of atoms and molecules, and many things are made up of different chemicals. Such as everyday solutions such as your hair spray or those cleaning solutions under the sink. These things and more can have different reactions to different conditions, one example is the Statue of Liberty, when it was first brought it was a copperiest color, but now due to the conditions and exposure to gases, (one example oxygen) has turned this once copper statue to a light green color. Many chemical changes occur every day, such as the boiling of water, or the baking of a cake.

Safety Issues/ Concern:
- Wash your hands with soap and water before you begin to cook to prevent the spread of bacteria.
- If you have long hair put it up so that it won’t catch on fire or fall into the food.
- Make sure all dishes are clean before using them to prevent catching a disease.
- Use oven mitts when removing/placing your cake into the oven so that you don’t get burned. If you get burnt run it under cold water for 15 minutes and after put on triple antibiotic (do not cover with a band aid).
- When cooling keep out of reach from small children to prevent them for getting burnt.
- Let cool before eating so that you do not burn your tongue.

Socially this can create a good vibe. Smokers would be largely at peace and depart from conflict with other members of our society due to its relaxing effects. This can be an important result to the use of Marijuana as we are a society in which conflicts are always arising and ongoing.
Thank You for reading the editorial on Leagalizing of Marijuana.

By legalizing many jobs could be created by the marijuana production industry, hemp from the crop could be harnessed as a resource, and an entirely commercial sub-market could be created for marijuana. The same way that alcohol now has a competitive commercial market. Ideally marijuana could be regulated in the same manner alcohol is regulated: you cannot do it while driving, while at work and you have to be old enough. America would not only save billions in fighting the “War on Drugs” but they would make billions more in taxes.
